President of the Republic of Tunisia, Beji ÷÷Caid Essebsi received on Friday, 03 June 2016 Palace of Carthage, the Vice President of India, Mohammad Hamid Ansari.
During this meeting, Beji Caid Essebsi, expressed his satisfaction of the friendship and cooperation existing between Tunisia and India, highlighting the desire of the Tunisian side to work closely with the Indian part for the development of the bilateral cooperation in various fields and stressed the need to hold the next session of the Tunisia- India  joint commission at a high level before the end of the current year and to intensify visits between officials of both countries to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations.

 The Indian Vice-President, who was accompanied by an important delegation includes the Minister of chemicals and fertilizers, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and members of parliamentarians ,highlighted  the importance of  this first visit of  high level officials since 1984 and expressed the Indian's desire  to develop its relations with Tunisia and discuss ways to boost cooperation in all fields.
